Echo the Voice of Heaven

 Genesis 16:13 (NIV)

"She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: ‘You are the God who sees me,’ for she said, ‘I have now seen the One who sees me.’”

Reflection

The culture I was raised in didn’t nurture my voice, it robbed it. “Shut up!” wasn’t just a phrase; it was a weapon. Spoken with venom, followed by insults or even slaps, it buried my words and crushed my worth. My voice became a prisoner of fear. Love was distorted. Affection was absent. And pain… pain became my language. I spoke it fluently—in anger, in silence, in survival. This is exactly what the enemy of our soul intended.

  • To silence our praise,
  • to mute our prayers,
  • to confuse our identity
until we speak the language of hate instead of the language of Heaven.

And when we forget who we are, we'll do almost anything to be seen and heard—even at the cost of our souls. But here is where I need you to pause:

Bring your eyes to see the God who sees you.

Just as Hagar did, abused, cast out, abandoned,  she looked up in her moment of despair and saw Him: El Roi, the God who sees. And He not only saw her, He spoke to her.

In that sacred encounter, she found what we all long for: a voice that affirms, a presence that restores. God sees you. God hears you. And through Jesus Christ, His Son sent for our healing,  God restores your voice.

  • Jesus is the Way when you’ve been lost in silence.
  • He is the Truth when lies told you that your voice didn’t matter.
  • He is the Life when trauma tried to shut you down completely.

He shows us the Father, and through Him, we are invited to echo the voice of Heaven. The voice that:

  • speaks love, not fear.
  • Hope, not hate.
  • Truth, not trauma.

Prayer

Father
I bring my broken voice to You.
Help me see You as Hagar did—the God who sees me, hears me, and loves me still.
Restore what silence tried to kill.
Let me echo Your voice—the voice of Heaven.
Give me the courage to speak, the grace to listen, and the wisdom to heal.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Today's Reflection Questions:

  1. Have you ever felt like your voice was taken from you?
  2. How might seeing God—truly seeing Him—begin your healing process?
  3. What would it look like for your voice to echo Heaven today?

Live It Out:

Don’t just reclaim your voice, redeem it. Use it to

  • speak truth,
  • show compassion
  • and to build hope in others who’ve been silenced.

This week, speak one truth that affirms someone else’s identity.

Let your Voice echo Heaven, not hurt.

be a healing echo...

Does Your Institution Need a RESET?

“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Proverbs 23:7 (KJV)

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23 (KJV)

---------------------------------------------

Reflection

Have you ever walked into your workplace or ministry and felt the tension in the atmosphere? Have you left meetings feeling devalued, dismissed, or unworthy?

That may be a sign that your institution needs a RESET.

But here’s the truth: the environment is not hostile by default—it becomes so when the thoughts we hold in our hearts toward each other begin to shape our behaviours and interactions.

The reset we need doesn’t start with policies or programs. It starts in the heart.

God’s Word teaches that the heart is not only the seat of emotions but also the source of thoughts and intentions. What we think in our hearts becomes visible in how we act. When someone offends us, what rises to the surface, resentment or grace? When decisions don’t go our way, do we respond with humility or hostility?

A good heart-check happens not just when things are calm, but especially when we are hurt, frustrated, or overlooked. The thoughts and words that come forth in those moments reveal what’s really hidden in our hearts.

A Mirror for Every Role

  • Directors — How you speak of your staff to the board reflects your heart.
  • Managers & Supervisors — Your representation of team members reveals your thoughts about their worth.
  • Staff Members — The way we speak about leadership when they’re not present shows the condition of our hearts.
It’s not a bottom-up movement.
It’s a heart approach.
It’s a God approach.
Who do you need to see differently?
What attitudes do you need to release?
The RESET is all of us, starting with you. Let’s begin today.

This is not a top-down correction.

It’s a you approach.

The RESET begins with each of us taking responsibility for our own thoughts and renewing our hearts before God.

---------------------------------------------

Prayer

Lord, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. Help me to think rightly toward those I work and serve with. Let my actions reflect love, honour, and humility. Teach me to lead and follow with grace. May the RESET begin with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
